If you have been receiving my Tips of the Week since January 2006, then you might remember that I hosted a 90 minute tele-conference call with Michael Gerber, famed author of the E-Myth Books. Michael literally coined the phrase: “Work ON the business, not just IN the business.”

We had our free tele-conference and it was a MIND BLOWER. The focus of this conference was about using the Six Fundamentals of Creating a Truly Great Business AND Practice and finding the place you want to be in your life. No, this did not focus (specifically) on techniques to grow your business, because long before you ever decide to do that, you have to know what you want your life to be like. Michael introduced everyone, myself included, to a reverse engineering process (if you will) of looking at your business, STARTING with your passion before all else.

Right on the spot, I would say many of the participants were thrown into a quandary. Michael really made everyone on that conference think harder about their lives than I think any of us were prepared to do when we initially got on the conference.

What do you really, really want to do? Many folks got on that call thinking they knew the answer to that question, but when Michael was done, I think many folks were seriously re-thinking their LIFE plans.
